Nice neighborhood spot with well executed new American comfort food. Great burger but the appetizers are the highlight.

I rarely find interesting food to be delicious, but Houseman was the exception. My pre-dinner concerns included the mild silliness of a menu that lists only ingredients, not names of dishes or food preparations. This fear was assuaged by my server, who expertly helped me navigate the dishes.
The lamb sausage with yoghurt [sic] and chicken with honey and almonds were beyond compare. The malt ice cream sundae was not to my taste but very well composed.

The burger was pretty good, had a backyard barbecue feel.

Houseman took over the storefront at one of my favorite lunch spots in the area, 508. It had a lot to live up to but I came away very pleased. The menu honestly makes no sense. In an attempt at being artistic the menu is confusing and doesn't give you an idea of portion size because nothing is broken up by Appetizer, Entree, Dessert, etc.
That being said, all of the food we ordered was original and delicious. The roasted carrots and cottage cheese was a favorite of mine. The waitress was really helpful with the menu and explained everything so we understood what we were getting. Apparently the menu changes often as well, so for somebody who eats lunch in the area a lot this will add longevity to my patronage. Aside from a minor gripe about the confusing menu I really liked this spot!
