Holiday Inn Carteret Rahway

Service was great, friendly staff. However, we booked a non-smoking room but it had a very faint smell of smoke. Also, the hotel looks very nice from the outside and at the lobby but the rooms (at least mine) felt very "motel-ish." Kind old and outdated.

Conveniently located right outside of New York. Room was clean with updated furniture and decor, but ceilings and wallpaper showed the age. No complaints. Great place to stay for a night in between Virginia and New York city.

We were here because of a death in the family and last minute. All of the staff went above and beyond to help with computers in their own office and transportation. Jackie and James even called friends and stores looking for favorite things we wish to take home with us on their personal phones.The only problem we had was no elevator and my Dad uses a cane no problem ground floor for him and close to lobby. Thank you everyone!

Don't do the Park Sleep and Fly with this hotel. We were a party of 10 who parked 3 cars and booked 2 rooms. Their "shuttle" is a 4 door sedan that can fit 4 people max. As we had a very early flight, we had to have them make 3 trips to to get us all to the airport and had to start the process at 330 am! The manager is an obnoxious rude individual who's "couldn't care less" attitude really pissed me off. I am a travel agent and work in the hospitality industry as well. If I treated my customers the way he treated us, I'd be out looking for a job right now. Also the hotel seems to double as a shelter for people. There seemed to be too many people paying a week upfront in cash and knowing other guests by name. Something just seemed seedy about the place. This hotel is at least 25 minutes with no traffic from the airport which they don't tell you.upon return we had to wait over an hour for their "shuttle" and deal yet again with that nasty manager whobi do plan to report to his superiors. I do not recommend staying here or parking your car.

Booked (and paid for) a king sized bed, and got two fulls.
Booked a smoking room and it was, but it was conjoined to an occupied non-smoking room.
We felt so bad, we didn't even smoke.
Went to dinner at the restaurant and we were served by the chef who spoke no english.
Went to the buffet for breakfast, and ran into more problems. When we got there, two people cleaned out everything, and they didn't replace the food for 30 minutes.
Despicable.
If you're going to have such terrible regard for your customers, charge them less.
