Highland Elementary School

I go to highland and I like the teachers and the schedules, I just hate that Mrs Korn is irresponsible with kids

My child has attended this school from Kindergarten to 8th grade. It has been a wonderful experience for her. The classes are small, the children are friendly, and the curriculum is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Ms. Korn was extremely unprofessional at times, and very obnoxious. November 2008, Ms. Korn attempted to send my son, who happened to be in the 3rd grade at the time, home without his coat. When approached, she bluttered, "He has to learn to be more responsible, and I have to teach him a lesson." Really??? I politely protested, and Korn screamed at the top of her lungs, "Why do I bother having rules in a school, if no one is going to follow them!!" Apparently, she was having a mental breakdown because doors were slammed, etc. How many parents would allow a school leader, teacher, or staff member to send their child home coatless in cold weather, not to mention speak to you in that manner? This was the beginning to the end of my short-lived horrible experience at Highland, because thereafter, both my sons were the brunt of her bruised ego, resulting in me removing my sons from that "institution". My only regret was not removing them sooner. I conclude by saying, "Be mindful of the hands you leave your children in." Fortunately, both boys are happy and doing well, and if they are happy, so am I. That is my job as a parent. Protect your children.
