Herods Marble & Granite

Ordered tile and a piece of granite for a TV alcove in an apartment I am renovating. The Owner, John, tells you what you what you want to hear and then does not come through.

I first asked if the materials were in stock, I was told it was, it was not had to wait for them to order.
I asked for granite, I got marble.
I asked that it have bull nose, I got standard
The piece had scratches, chips and black marker marks.
The material was promised for Delivery on a Thursday, waited 3 hours no delivery. Called and told it would have to be rescheduled.
Rescheduled for the following Monday, waited 4 hours no show. Called and was told delivery would have to be rescheduled.
Called Owner to discuss, he told me he would call me right back, he never did.
Told Herod's that if it was not delivered on the next scheduled delivery date that I would file a complaint with the State Attorney General's office because I was starting to think that this was some sort of scam.
Delivery was made as scheduled but it was 2 hours late.

By the way, The Owner requires that you pay in full in advance. He claims that there is too much Credit Card fraud so he does not accept credit cards. You pay and then he takes his sweet time delivering on the material. He already has your money so he could care less how long you wait. And then to boot he does not deliver what he promises.

Herod's Stone is, in my opinion extremely unprofessional. Their customer service is abysmal.

Avoid them at all costs. The owner is a smooth talker, when you meet him or if you meet him you will know. We selected them for a quartz counter-top, first they agreed on the type, than they said they could not deliver the one we asked for in time, than they said we need to select another one, so we went to their yard and chose another one. Than after the selection was done, two days later they said we can get the original one. All good. Than the fun began with numerous delays, plus on the day of the delivery they called to say they broke the slab and had to get a new one. This delayed it further. The icing on the cake was when we bought backsplash, we bought extra boxes with a clear understanding from the sales lady (DONNA) that if we do not use the unopened boxes we can return them. Well I called her back to tell her that I am bringing the material back and than she informs that we cannot return them. All around a poor business practice. There are plenty of other outfits to choose from, avoid these guys.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star, but that's the only way I could review them. Do not ever do business with these people. They installed countertops that chipped and stained after immediate use. They also did a dreadful job of sealing all of the various cracks so liquids wouldn't spill into the cabinets. Speaking of the cabinents, numerous panels were delivered damaged. When we asked for replacements, they tried to charge us and/or recommend we use a touch up pen to fix them. After fighting them for 2 months we were told they would give us a partial refund, which we never received. We could have not had a worse experience with them.

They had a big selection of everything that I was looking for and the prices are very competitive and there service was excellent. They helped step by step till te project was done and I'm thankful for that. Thank you.

Staff are very argumentative . They try to cheat you on what was delivered . Never return phone calls or emails. Will not do business with this company again !
