The experience here was horrific. Tashe doesn't know how to wash or condition locs. Don't think she has a license to do hair. And don't even think about getting your locs dyed 2 different colors. Manic Panic dye, she doesn't even know what that is. Will not recommend anyone to go there. I won't be going back.

I went to Hermie's Beauty salon on the recommendation of a friend. I was not certain of the style I wanted, because I had recently cut my hair and I was not happy with it. The staff was very friendly and even the customers said hello when I came in. This was unusual in my experience as I find most hair salon to not have an upbeat attitude.

Ms. Hermie asked me if she could assist me and I explained that I wanted a wash and curl. She asked if she could touch my hair and look at it, I consented. she gave my hair a thorough appraisal and made some gentle suggestions while asking questions about the style that I wanted. I was asked to sit at the wash station where another young lady washed and deep conditioned my hair (at all time this person was being instructed by Ms.Hermie as to the best product choice for my type of hair). I was then asked to sit in her chair and my hair was combed out and some ends were clipped, then blow dried. Once that was done my hair was curled and styled the way I had envisioned it when I first got it cut. Ms. Hermie then gave me an after care regimen and suggested some products that she sold and one that you could purchase at the drug store to maintain my new look. Of course I loved the way I looked but the best part was my husband's comment when he saw me later that evening. Thanks again Ms. Hermie for an amazing look.

Worse hair cut ever. I went in for a basic hairstyle. The owner Hermie said she knew how to do it herself. Despite telling her exactly what I wanted it came out totally different. Unfortunately I had to cover my eyes so I don't get anything in them. Thats when everything went wrong. Hermie and another stylist workred on my hair and it still came out bad. They tried to make it up to me by giving me a big discount and then suggested that I still give them a positive review. Yea right.

My friend recommended this salon. I had tried other salons in New York City since moving here in 2008, but I had been unsuccessful in finding a good one that didn't burn my hair during a relaxer. When I first went to Hermie's, I went there to get a relaxer. When I walked in, everyone was super nice and friendly, and completely welcoming. It reminded me of my hair salon back home in Florida, where there is a family aspect to it, and that was comforting.

Hermie gave me my relaxer and the first thing she asked me was if my scalp burned easily or not, which it is a great question to ask. Other hair salons in New York City never asked me that and sometimes I forget to tell them that I do burn easily. Anyway, the relaxer she gave was very good and I enjoyed my time. My hair came out looking fabulous and I was very happy. It cost me $50 and I gave an additional tip.

Two weeks later, I decided to get a weave for my hair. Hermie's offers $70 Weave Tuesdays, where you can have your weave sewn in for $70 on Tuesday rather than $100 they usually charge throughout the week. I brought my hair with me and Isha did my hair. She gave me the part that I wanted and gave me the layered look. She is very good at what she does and my hair came out looking fabulous once again! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair since then. You know I will be going back to get my hair when I am in New York City.

I don't trust many people with my hair because my hair is very delicate and breaks off easily. Before I went to Hermie's, I only trusted my hair stylist Ms. Sharon back home in Florida. Now I have someone here in NYC and Florida. I can honestly say I trust the people at Hermie's Beauty Salon to do my hair correctly and I won't worry about anything going wrong with my hair (unless I do something to it lol).

I recommend Hermie's Beauty Salon to anybody who is looking to go in and come out looking fabulous and looking for good prices! Go to Hermie's today!
