My experience at Helene was abominable. I did not learn as well as I would have liked to. The staff is unapproachable and overall nasty. You are never oriented to what is going on in the class how to register for classes or never adequately prepared for exams even after reading material assigned and much less through the lectures. It is more of a time based program but education wise horrible. You are not prepared for the actual career practice and the teachers are intimidating and arrogant with the exception of Dr Paul, Ms. Lavides-Lim, and Professor George. The school is poorly administrated and the new president is beyond words distasteful. She has an air about her and is never directly in contact with her students, has not changed anything for the betterment or to improve the quality of the education nor does she ever survey students to see what changes they would like to see in the school probably for fear of retaliation. The school, during the time I was there had internal disputes, lawsuits etc. that were never really brought to light. The students are also competitive and just down right nasty, I would NEVER, I repeat NEVER recommend anyone to go there. Run while you can!!

I have been a proud member of the faculty at HFCN for fourteen years. HFCN students are a diverse and dedicated group--our students have broad backgrounds and experiences. The AAS program is accelerated, which means students complete 18 months of coursework in 12 months. If you are willing to give 150% to your studies, you will be rewarded with a great education at HFCN. I thoroughly enjoy teaching at HFCN because our students are motivated and intelligent. In addition to teaching, I enjoy my role as an advisor. Every student at HFCN is assigned to an advisor who follows them through the program from day one through graduation. HFCN is a great community. I encourage anyone who is interested in being part of a dynamic learning enviornment to explore HFCN. Helene Fuld College of Nursing is a great place to work and to learn.

Helene Fuld College of nursing gave me the ability to increase my nursing knowledge via an evidence based nursing curriculum. The seasoned instructors provided appropriate learning venues that aided student’s initiatives which are necessary to excel as professional nurses. As a recent graduate, November 2010, I would highly recommend HFCN to all LPNs that aspire to become RNs. If you are searching for a one year program, then this is the college for you. The institution has recently added a RN to BSN program. I was able to complete my MSN teaching internship the fall of 2013. Although it is a new program it is well developed and meets the needs of BSN prepared nurses. The uniqueness of HFCN allows the LPN to become a RN then a BSN within a singular milieu.
