STAY AWAY from this office. My 11 year old had a knee problem and was referred here by her Primary Pediatrician, what a mistake!
To see a doctor there's a 3 week wait for an appointment. Their walk-ins are as advertised, however you will be seen by a PA (physician's assistant) who can prescribe & order tests, but not an MD, who you will be scheduled for a follow up with.... in the same 3 weeks. Great way to increase revenues for this office, not so great for the patients. Another way to get more money from you or your insurance is to order unnecessary tests, which this place excels in! We came in with a 2-day old X-ray report from another imaging center, which this office deemed "unreliable" and the PA would not even physically examine my kid until another x-ray was done at their office. All because another MD's written report was not to this PA'S satisfaction and she "had to see the images herself"
But wait, there's more! The PA ordered some bloodwork & an MRI, which was recommended to be scheduled at this practice's imaging center for expediency's sake. Great idea, except they failed/forgot to submit for insurance authorization for 4 days, until after I called them multiple times to follow up and spent hours on the phone with their various "helpful" departments and insurance company to finally get them to submit (insurance approved within minutes!) MRI finally scheduled for next day (after a few more calls to their imaging center on Columbus Ave, SI where they just hang up on you as soon as you reach someone - took about 5 calls to schedule) MRI was done as scheduled with minimal wait - that part was no problem. But then the wait started to get the results, they were not available the next day, and the day after that the next 2 days were the weekend and since people don't get sick on weekends or don't need any results - the office is closed and you're directed to call 911 if it's an emergency. On Monday I called and left multiple messages but no one bothered to call back. By the way, when you call them - you have to jump through a number of voice prompts and almost always end up in some voice mail box - unless you know the super secret extension, even then there's little chance you will speak to a real live person, let alone a doctor or at least a PA. At this point (Tuesday - 5 calendar days since the MRI was done) my kid's Primary doctor's office is now also calling this place to get the results but are being given the run around because they are not on my kid's records in this office so they won't release any info to them. Even though I put the pediatrician's name in black and white on the intake paperwork we filled out when we were 1st seem by the PA (10 days ago!)
After more phone calls from both me and our pediatrician's office, these people finally have the audacity to say that the MRI report is not yet available because the imaging doctor from their practice's imaging center (that was supposed to be so "quick and convenient") hasn't yet bothered to review the images (6 calendar days after the test) and the orthopedic department hasn't bothered to follow up with imaging at all, or return my calls for results, since there were none available. We are still waiting..... while my daughter is limping around with no diagnosis in sight.
