H&R Block

nightmare!!! dont waste your time here. customer service is beyond bad. From the front desk to managers they are incredibly condescending! Highly unknowledgeable and did our taxes incorrectly.

I am so disappointed in H&R Block. Save your money and get a real accountant. I first filed here in 2013, and was audited by the IRS. The audit claimed that I never paid tuition fees (which I did) that I never contributed anything to charity (I reported about 1/4 of my contribution) and that I never invested in an IRA (I did). All annoying, small things that can be fixed with proof. Fortunately, I paid an extra fee in case I did get audited for that year.
I gave the accountant my proof, but apparently it was never submitted. I got a second letter in the mail, and now I have to take care of it myself unless the accountant somehow unearths herself and responds to the email I sent to her.
Before I ever received the letter from the IRS, I filed my 2014 taxes with them. I scheduled an appointment at a different, closer location, but they switched it to this office without notifying me. My tight schedule was disrupted, and I spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out where I could file my taxes that day.
I am absolutely infuriated with the lack of customer service and would never recommend their services to anyone. Save yourself time, money and peace of mind by going somewhere else.

In a nutshell--terrible. I live in NJ but work in Midtown. I was told if I purchased an extended peace of mind contract I could walk into any HR Block office for a refund, so I went to one near where I work. It was the singular worst customer service I have ever experienced. A tax preparer with an African accent (did not get his name, younger guy) took me back to his cubicle. I explained I recieved a notice for back taxes, had the Peace of Mind, live in NJ and that my tax preparer whom I have used for years told me I could come into any HR Block office to get straightened out. He basically said I was lying, that I do not listen well, that I should have gone to NJ not to him, that nobody told me that-- meanwhile he said he would help. I walked out. Insulting is not the word.
