Overpriced...

Costly price and way too strong AC in the summer. But the good thing is its location and you can basically get everything here.

Crazy prices ($16 for a gallon of organic milk) but sometimes just the most convenient.

Just a regular local store where you can find all the necessities. Not a gourmet store and has no interesting items More like a regular deli. Most of deli stores around are horrible so this one makes one. But has a good selection of frozen ready food items for low calorie diets. Has a selection of organic veggies. It is not a cheep store. Just regular Manhattan prices of a regular store. I like that it has long opening hours.

This is my least favorite store in the neighborhood. First of all, it smells bad. I don't know if it is the soap they use, but I can't stand the smell in the store. A place selling food should at least have a neutral smell. Secondly, I get a feeling that the store is run by people with little interest in neither food nor people. There are other stores within two blocks with great personality (especially Zingone Brothers btw. 82nd and 83rd on Columbus), but this has none.
The only reason I go to Gristedes once in a while is that they are open 24/7 and that they do carry some organic produce. With another management that would put some heart into what they are doing, this could be a decent store.
