Gold Medal Plumbing Heating Clng

Horrible service! They asked so much money for real simple job according to our local plumber we called next day. The Gold Medal technician didn't seem to care about the repair... I thought he was a sales person. He told us that we pay $89 per month about 10 years we will save about $60 dollar on winter time and get a new heating system for free.. When we told him that we are not interested he gave us weird look.. Next day we called local plumber he fixed the problem in one two three and asked so little money almost quarter amount of what the Gold Medal tech asked for.. Don't waste $49 for calling sales people from the Gold Medal like we did. They will charge you $49 plus tax no matter what...

Bottom Line: This company is unreliable. Never use this company.

The story: We called Gold Medal at 8am on 12/30/09, told them our house was 55 degrees, that we had a 10 month old at home, that the circuit breaker on our heater needed to be replaced, and that we were desperate to get the heat fixed. They told us they would have an Electrician and Heating Repairman out to our house between 1p-4p 12/30/09 and "would get the job done". At 3:30pm when we had no call and no service repairman, we began calling every 15 min. At each call they promised "someone will be there soon, they are just finishing the last job before you". It was not until 6:30pm that they admitted they had 3 people out that day and would not get to us until 8pm. At 8pm an unqualified electrician showed up saying "you have power" (which was not our problem as aforementioned) and arrived with no heating repair knowledge (and no heating repairman in tow). He left within 5 min telling us he "didn't know what to do" and that the circuit breaker needed replacement (which we reported that morning). Before leaving he asked if we wanted to replace our furnace and get an estimate because it "looked old" (our furnace is fine, it is from 2003). This left us scrambling to get our heating fixed on New Years Eve. Needless to say the house is still cold 24h after we first spoke to them and we are working with multiple other companies to get it fixed asap as no parts will be available after 12/31/09 at noon until after the long weekend.
