The best wine store I found in NYC, and I've been to dozens. I made it quite clear to the store worker and owner, as well. The variety of wines is way beyond the regular stores and you can find great affordable wineries like Roth from California and the better labels that most don't sell like Cabernet Napa Valley of Louis Martini.
Also, the prices are very reasonable. I paid for these Californian wines less than I paid in California...
Service was great, too, so the overall experience is excellent.

You couldn't ask for a nicer staff. We were visiting nyc for the first time, we were soaking wet and had no clue where we were going. After they helped us make our selection one of the gentlemen called a taxi for us. No one was available so he went out in the street to flag one down for us. After that didn't work he offered to give us a ride all the way up to la maison d'art in Harlem. I couldn't let him do that after already being so awesome. When I was doing singles events for Temple Emanuel this use to be the stop where we got our booze. A friendly staff that always knows just the right wine to recommend. This shop has a great selection from cheap to expensive, so depending on what you are looking for you there is plenty to choose from!

Great selection of not-so-common wines makes this a great UES wine-shop. The staff is very knowledgeable and always ready with a recommendation. They also carry a great selection of small/privately-owned vineyards.
