Fumio Grill and Sushi

This place is outragiously expensive for really mediocre sushi. The restaurant itself is nice, but in no way it lives up to the image of a place which charges 8$ for a miso soup. Even wasabi was offered in "economical" size, my tuna roll tasted bland and weird, my husband's rainbow roll was the worst I had in my entire life, including the one in Cyprus, which was the size of a pea.

I'll cut right to it. The atmosphere is nice, but the wait staff is terrible. The manager is always yelling, and it disturbs the mood. The waiters are always running which makes me think there's some kind of emergency. I ordered some fish and it smelled like a dumpster, so I asked my waiter for another menu and to remove the offensive food. While I was looking at the menu, they served the rest of everyone in my party. By the time my food was ready, I had to take it to go because everyone was done. Furthermore, they tried to charge me for the bad fish! I called the waiter over and told him to take it off the bill, but he said he couldn't. He called the manager over, and the manager wouldn't do it either! He said they were a small business and costs were high. I was awestruck. Well, I'm no thief, so I paid my bill in full, but you can damn well bet I'll never go back there. I've never heard of anything so preposterous in my life. Hasn't the owner ever heard of the saying "the customer is always right?" It looks like I'll be heading to Teaneck when I want to go out to eat.

My husband and I redeemed our jdeal coupon Monday nite, president's day, at Fumio's. They accepted the coupon even though the place was packed and the coupon stated not redeemable on holidays. The food, service and ambience were all excellent. My husband said the duck was spiced perfectly and my angus reserve was like butter, soft and delicious. The waitress was attentive. Abie is a outstanding and hospitable host. Abie mentioned that Fumio's can cater parties and kiddushes.

I've recently dined at fumio and what an experience! It was my first Kosher restaurant , and what a freshness with the food & atmosphere.I had the short ribs, the portions are very large, well worth the price. Ribs were juicy, sauteed to perfection. Staff is very friendly, along with the manager. I also enjoyed the delicious chocolate lava cake ,which was the perfect size portion after eating such a arge entree meal. Next visit i will try the infamous sushi, which looked beautifully displayed on my entry into the restaurant. I will be coming back for sure!

I have enjoyed the dining experience in Fumio many times, and I haven’t regretted it once. Their food is beautifully plated and it tastes even better than it looks. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly.I would definitely recommend you to try it out, and I will be there soon again.

And what do you know, it is now under new management (again) hehee
