Excellent....quality.....knowledgeable staff, bartender very aware of food and wine, ask for Joshua, he will guide you through the menu. I loved the late lunch experience. Place to be!

Pizza was good. Pastas and polenta were also good but small portions, especially for the price. Waiter was not attentive. Not worth it in my opinion.

Since moving to Brooklyn two years ago, I have heard of a few pizza places that should be priorities to visit. Franny's is one of them. I am a bit surprised by the 3.7 rating because I found Franny's to be very good; it met our expectations. Things got off to a bumpy start though. When I entered the restaurant I indicated there were three people in our party and asked how long the wait would be. The hostess (who may have been filling in) looked at me with a confused look, which confused me. She indicated our party wasn't complete (my wife had just stepped away to find a bathroom). I was so confused that at one point I asked if something was wrong. That awkward interaction aside, the rest of our experience was positive. We were told there would be a 45-minute wait but it ended up being only 30 minutes.
We asked our server about ways to remove meat and dairy from the pizzas. Usually this is easy. It was a bit of a challenge at Franny's but nothing too bad. He indicated the chefs are particular about which pizzas they make changes to. It seemed easy enough to us to not include pieces of sausage and throw on asparagus but I digress. We ended up with two great pizzas for three of us. They skimped on the basil but otherwise, the pizzas were excellent. Very good flavor and the crust was very nice. It was thin yet crisp. It didn't get soggy from the toppings.
If there weren't so many other pizza places to try in Brooklyn I would definitely return.
