First Med Urgent Medical Care

Regular general practice packed with scheduled patients for a couple of doctors working there.All of them call themselves urgent care My old doctor in south shore medical in bellerose now calls his practice an urgent care too. Anyhow the First med staff sure made it known that they did me a favor by making me wait two hours almost before seeing me because I had decided to come in without an appointment.No apologies for being tardy. Doctor was average, not much knowledge - kept talking about my 'pressure' not what I was there for. Wanted me to get an EkG and other stuff done. I said I will come back for all that good stuff. Also did not give me any antibiotic because "it's just a virus infection" and antibiotics 'don't work for this'. Wouldn't or couldn't give me a referral until I made them my PCP.Thay are not an urgent care at all.What do you know? 3 days later, I could barely crawl out of bed Iwent to the LIJ ERCenter and they said my oxygen was low, my X-ray showed a decent shadow of infection and after 6 hours they sent me home on 5 different pills for pneumonia. Coincidence? Shouldn't there be negative ratings too because a person like me who almost died shouldn't have to give them any star rating at all. beats me why google doesn't employ smarter people right here in the USA. Mike, I could care less if they were owned by the Iranians but this place aint any more an urgent care than the folks in south shore medical in bellerose are. If you care for a waterfall, take your rosary with you. You will need it.

Wait time is ridiculous. I waited 3 hours just to fill out paperwork, and then another 2 hours to get seen. Once in the office, I waited 30 minutes. Their office protocol is so inefficient. If you can, go somewhere else.

To the listing talking about insurance. The office is PRIVATELY owned and not associated with the other urgent care places....this place has great doctors and kind staff. I always go there anded highly recommend it

I did not have to wait long the doctor was nice and knowledgeable. The place is clean and runs well.

The last rating is very unfair. This office is clean and even has a soothing waterfall. The staff is friendly. Wait time is the only drawback, but this is at almost every doctor's office, especially a walk in. 5 stars if the wait time is improved.
