Tasty food for an affordable price. I would recommend the egg custard tart if you want a small snack. This place is cash only

Very similar to Paris baguette as you take a pair of tongs and a plate, then pick whatever carby goodness your heart desires. I settled on a warm pork puff (empanada) and a coconut bread concoction. To wash it down I got the hot chocolate. Total....$4.25! No wonder it's cash only, great bargain. The coconut bread was the best of the bunch as it's soft and didn't have overwhelming coconut flavor. The pork puff was lukewarm and reminded me of Taco Bell meat. Hot chocolate is satisfying and not too thin like some cheap places.

Fay Da is the quintessential Chinese bakery, they have several locations around the city and their teas and coffee are always amazing. They all carry the same pastries which range from sweet to savory and their buns all have a slight kick of sugar which makes it interesting. Their cakes are wonderful and they even make large cakes for parties.
The prices are really good and the staff is lovely!
I stop by almost every morning and they know my order almost instantly, dont know if this is good or bad haha, some of my friends have been exposing me to some other their other things such as their steamed buns and sticky rice and they are all really good~!

stellar taro buns, pineapple buns, egg tarts and milky sugared coffee to the masses. In addition to the sweet stuff, Fay Da serves up steamed and baked savory buns and pies; come in for a feast, and if you're heading to one of the chain's Chinatown locations, expect the place to be packed at all hours. But, again, egg tarts. Get 'em while they're fresh
