Essex County College

I've learned so much because it help me grow. I new my worth & what I mean for my life. I joined Essex County College 4 1 reason only & that was my sister Renina Newton who died @ the tender age of 25 by a drunk driver going 100 miles on the Pennsylvania highway. I made it cause of her because of that & the school she choose I will forever be greatful .

I wanted to go here when I first graduated HS but I went to Brookdale instead, for the simple fact that I could never get an answer or a call back from this school. I suggest you do the same. Brookdale was wonderful and looking at the current reviews... This schools "situation" hasn't changed much.

ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!! YOUR ARE A COLLEGE WHERE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS ATTEND!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ONCE IN A WHILE ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!! AND THIS GOES FOR ALL THE DEPARTMENTS, AND MULTIPLE DAYS OF ENDLESS PHONECALLS!! ANSWER THEM! PATHETIC

I attended & graduated ECC. I also work for ECC as a part timer. I am a mature woman and viewed my stay at this campus as a positive one. Please do not be discouraged by most of the negative comments regarding this college. 2 year colleges offer many benefits, discounted tuition costs as well as excellent preparation for the student to move on to universities, academically as well as behaviorally. Although there are complaints regarding staff personalities, trust it is all by design to prepare you for your successful future. If I had children, I would encourage my child to attend ECC, sincerely!

Despite all the very bad reviews I read here, I decided to give it a shot since I'd heard that this was a "not so complicated" option for J-1 visitor students, I regret it now. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME!!! I don't even know from where to start... The staff is clearly not qualified to answer any kind of question and it looks like people that "works" there don't even have an schedule. The person in charge to help people with my kind of visa "was not there" during OFFICE HOURS! And while I was trying to be patient and asked when was the time when I could for sure find here, the lady told me "no one knows". The only helpful person there was a current student whom did me the HUGE favor of giving me the email where I can reach the person that it is supposed to help me, and he was friendly because he went through the same situation when he first started. So basically this is a DO IT YOURSELF kind of school where even a simple procedure would take you FOREVER!!! No matter if you are missing a deadline or anything.
