Atrocious customer service. I joined this gym 5 weeks ago because I was looking for a better gym with a better experience, and to not interact with obnoxious gym goers. This place turned out to be a Frathouse not a west village high end club.
Some of the trainers are pushy, loud and obnoxious, trying to force an introduction into members, using the gym as their own private property with no regard for actual paying members.
One of those pretentious fratboy trainers named Yomi tried to rush me to finish squats cos he wanted to use the equipment himself! or in another instance that same trainer was video taping another trainer, with me in the middle of that video without being asked!
No consideration to a member's privacy or experience at this gym!

The bigger issue is when reporting this rude behavior to the training manager ( Russell Suggs ) he shamelessly said some trainers upload videos to Instagram ( with paying member's privacy not relevant !)
and that was it. I was actively ignored by him for over two weeks!! He purposefully avoided any contact with me on the gym floor.
Not what I'd expect from a manager at a DESTINATION club.

Only when I escalated the issue to Russell's manager did I get a response from Russell that did not have any apologies about his trainer's behavior or what steps were taken, but to blatantly reframe the entire issue as a personality difference! I just joined this gym and never engaged that trainer in conversation, I come to the gym to exercise and be in my zone, not to have loud pretentious fratboy trainers competing for equipment and machines with me as a paying member, or interrupting my workouts to force an introduction!
So basically I had to go all the way up to the General manager just to be able to use the gym as intended.

An average gym should provide a good environment for members to exercise and use the facilities, and this is supposed to an upscale venue that instead of providing an upscale environment they present members with a rude trainer competing with actual paying members to use the weights / machines. Or videotaping other trainers and including unsuspecting members in the video! and above all to have their managers shamelessly ignore the issue. This gym has no regard for personal space or a member's experience. Atrocious customer experience.

I've been to dozens of gym locations in the city and this one is my personal favorite. Printing House is never too packed and the machines always work perfectly. The rooftop pool is beautiful but a bit of a waste since you can't bring guests, still a nice touch though and I understand that guests would make it overcrowded. Lastly, the staff is incredibly nice and responsive. If I ever have a request or complaint they resolve it within a day and even follow up to make sure I was satisfied. It's almost unsettling to be treated that well. Plus their towels are soft, and who doesn't love a nice soft towel.

I think this place is seriously overrated. The shower facilities are becoming a bit tired, and on top of that you usually have to wait for a shower (just forget getting a hair dryer!). The machines often don't work and the class schedule makes no sense. Definitely not worth the expensive monthly price tag.

If you want to know what perfection looks like, come to this gym. The amazing studios, classes, and personal training is more than enough to make me happy. The gym also has a rooftop pool that is to die for. There are few places that are as chic, fun, and cool in New York City. Membership is expensive, but well worth it.

AWFUL!!!
I joined Equinox because I thought it was a good and safe environment. I went to the Printing House, 421 Hudson St, NYC, to have a nice and relaxing day, and instead, my wallet was stolen right out of my locker. The manager was nowhere to be found and the staff were not helpful and were cold, dismissive, and disinterested in helping me or even reporting the problem to the manager. I personally believe this may have been an inside job.

I bumped into another Equinox member in the elevator on my way out, who saw I was visibly upset, and I explained the situation. He mentioned that this had happened to him at this exact location twice before!

This whole experience make it very difficult to have an enjoyable – or even normal – workout since you can’t leave your personal belongings in the locker room and feel confident that they will be there when you return. I would strongly advise anyone considering joining Equinox to find another alternative – one where repeated burglaries will be taken seriously, measures will be implemented to try to prevent them going forward, and the staff cares about the well-being of the members
