I came from Queens looking for one quick item and arrived at 8:47 when they close at 9:00. I counted 5 people in the store and communicated through the window but they wouldn't let me in. I tried calling the store to ask if they had what I was looking for and they also wouldn't answer the phone because they could see it was me calling. What terrible service and arrogance.

Lovely stuff. One big problem. I was unaware of something and the woman wearing a bandanna was extremely rude when I asked. That is no way to treat a customer. Horrible woman, horrible customer service. Luckily another employee who was very nice kindly explained to me what I wanted to know. Im sure they'd be better off firing that monster of a woman. I don't recommend enchantments to anybody. There are plenty more metaphysical shops WITHOUT rude monstrous employees.

If you ask for help, you get it. I assume that anyone writing reviews that are saying they're nasty or unhelpful, were probably rude first.
Also, in regard to the cat, if you treat it with respect, it won't bite you. Let it smell your hand, ask if you can pet it, and wait for some sort of answer.
The herb selection isn't really what I'd hoped for but is probably thebest they could do with the space given to them.

The first time I went there was when I was in high school so this probably 1990 or 1991. I thought it was my Catholic uniform that may have turned off the employees - I couldn't understand why they were so snotty.
Some many years later I ventured back in and needless to say, same old crappy attitude. No one greets you, asks if you want anything. NOTHING.
I'll stick with the botanicas.

Had a bad experience here. Went in tonight to buy some tarot cards for a friend (I knew exactly what I wanted). I asked the lady behind the counter where the tarot cards were; she looked at me as though I had no business being there before pointing towards a counter that was covered with cardboard boxes (so accessing it to look at the cards was very difficult). She made no effort to move the boxes or provide any further assistance. The ladies behind the counter were loudly bitching and the whole energy in this dark, dingy store was heavy. I ended up leaving and walking all the way over to Namaste Bookshop for my purchases. I don't think I'll venture near this place again!
