After subbing at various schools in District 17 searching for a school to send my son, who was in the montessori pre-k program in lefferts gardens, I was very pleasantly surprised that PS 316 was in district 17. This school is one of the best schools in the district. The "A" rating from the quality review speaks for itself. I am pleased with the diverse student body and every year the school is becoming more diverse. The teachers are caring and hardworking. My son started in the G&T program since kindergarten and will now go to the second grade. The guidance counselors and speach teachers are wonderful and support the students well. The principal is very empathetic to the needs of the students and she has an open door policy in which parents can communicate any concerns. The school hosts several events for students and parents throughout the year. The clubs offer great programs! My son has taken violin and guitar thus far. This year a new after school program is expected to run which will help students with homework and extra curricular activities. PS 316 is getting better every year.
