Unfortunately, after being a regular patron here for months and the #1 yelper at this establishment, I have to give it a bad review and stop going here.
Went last night around 8 pm, good food and everything was same old same old.
The older lady who owns the restaurant was waiting on me and brought me my check. The total was $8.03 and I gave her $20.03 and asked for change. She came back to my table and sat down a $5 and 5 $1 bills and quickly walked away.
Now, that's $10 and my change was $12. At first, I was just going to leave because I intended on giving her a $2 tip anyway, however, when I looked her way in the kitchen she saw me and disappeared behind a wall. This hide and seek BS continued for about five minutes. Obviously I became very angry that she was trying to pull one over on me and ignore me as well.
She then went over to the register, took out $2 and placed it on my table without ever looking at me. Now, keep in mind I didn't say anything to her. She KNEW she had shorted me exactly $2. This was intentional.
Is it a lot of fuss over $2, yes! However, the principal is that the OWNER of this establishment intentionally shorted me, the CUSTOMER. That's deceptive and a huge slap in the face to someone who comes to the restaurant religiously.
Obviously, she knew I'd drop a $2 tip like I always do. So homegirl decided to keep some on the back end and make it 50% gratuity.
And FYI, owners aren't supposed to take tips!
