My 85 year old grandmother received a large arrangement on the Saturday of Mother's day weekend this year. She had it refrigerated and attempted to serve it for breakfast for Mother's day on Sunday. However, upon opening the arrangement we noticed the strawberries were spoiled and had fuzzy mold growing on most of them, the grapes were old and starting to turn and wrinkle and the cantaloupe and melon were not ripe at all- hard as rocks. I understand, Mother's Day weekend, they must have been swamped with orders! However, this is their business, and we were unsatisfied and this was unacceptable. We called and spoke to someone at the Hylan Blvd. location and they were hesitant to hear our concerns and finally asked us "Well what would you like us to do?!" We said we would like another arrangement to replace this one, they could take this rotten one back. The man from the store agreed and said we could keep the current arrangement and they would deliver a new one on Monday. By 3PM Monday, still no arrangement, so my grandmother called the store and spoke to John Paul and he said he had no knowledge of this situation. Instead of calling the worker from the day before, John Paul continued to hassle my grandmother, questioning her and giving her a hard time. He abruptly ended the conversation and said he would come pick up the arrangement from her house. Another person picked up the fruit basket and then John Paul called my grandmother back exclaiming, "It's all rotted!" and accused her of not putting it in the refrigerator. Again, he ended the conversation. We called again, on my grandmother's behalf, to take care of this ridiculous situation and a fruit basket was promised to be delivered the next day. And it was, albeit a much smaller arrangement. But we could no longer waste our breath fighting over a fruit basket. So instead, I'm taking the time to write this review and hopefully when someone GOOGLES "staten island edible arrangements" they will choose another location!
