Echelon Cycles

I recently purchased a new bike from Echelon Cycles for a 2-day 200 mile ride. The attentive service and proper fitting was just as important as picking the proper frame. Thanks guys!

First of all, I would like to point out that this is my first Yelp review. In the past, I never felt the need to judge the quality of any store's service, because it was always adequate or better and I understand that people have "off" days. However, I just felt the need to post something as someone who has worked in the service industry in the past.

I bought some quality panniers from Echelon recently ($150). Unfortunately, all the employees were blasé about the entire sale. They had zero motivation to help or assist. They also didn't know the price until I pulled out the price tag from the bottom of the bag (they originally quoted a price $40 dollars more than the actual price). They complained about back problems when I inquired about a bag behind the counter and he had to get up from his seat. When I by-mistakenly dropped a water-proof/durable bag 1 foot on the ground he said, "Why are you throwing things around?" in an very unfriendly (serious) manner - it was honestly a slip of my hand and I apologized immediately. I ended up purchasing the bags but I would not go back for anything else.

If you are looking for a friendly and helpful demeanor without judgment, I would search elsewhere. If you want to go and pick up something quickly without conversing with an employee, then this is a fine place.

Top notch, trust worthy community based business. If you are searching for a new bike, or simply in need of a repair/tune-up, Echelon Cycles is the place to go. The crew there are experts in their craft. Purchased a BREEZER, Downtown 8 with an internal hub two years past this May 2016. What a reliable and quiet ride. There has not been a single problem with it. Wife and I recently did our first Spring run on the Putnam Trailway, besides regular rides along the Hudson River Greenway. It was peaceful, relaxing and fun. I'm certain we will enjoy many more years of biking with the BREEZER. Thanks Echelon Cycles...

My FAVORITE bike shop! Great small shop personal service. I love that they go off the path beaten by Sp@*z#d, Gi@nt and C@#^*dale - Hallelujah! I shopped half a dozen shops before my last bike purchase and found they had the best selection of brands including Scott, Willier and Colnago. Lifetime tuneups with purchase.

The guys at echelon are knowledgable and helpful, they carry great bicycles for all uses, I have to say, even my bicycle is not top of the line, I was treated as VIP, and the best part of my experience was the custom fit of the bycicle to ergonomically work with my body for a complete riding experience. I have owned many bicycles and was never fit adequately. Special thanks to Pablo for the shared knowledge.
