East River Ferry

We thought it would be cool to ride the ferry over to Williamsburg to see the giant Aunt Jamima Sphinx at the Domino Sugar Factory. Unfortunately, I depended on the weekend times listed at the docks and on the website. We ended up waiting for nearly 50 minutes for the ferry. They need to get their act together on the weekends.

Up until today I have been a big fan of the East River Ferry. That was until they turned away my friend and her baby because they wanted to pay by cash to cross from LIC to 34th St. The operators and captain were incredibly rude. The sign at 34th St say you can purchase tickets in cash. Its not right to refuse someone a 4 min ride (who is willing to pay!), let alone a mother and child who have walked 30min in cold weather to ride the ferry home. Until their consideration improves I won't take the ferry again.
