Dr. Bakhtaver A. Irani, MD

This review is for the Rutherford, NJ location. Honestly, Dr. Irani is ok. She always seems to be in a hurry (but not rude). She does keep me at ease during a compromising position. In fact, I've never had an issue with the doctors in the office. But part of the experience includes dealing with the staff. Sadly, the staff is terrible and miserable. When you call, they just leave you on hold. When you finally get to them, such ATTITUDES (so rude). If you have questions about anything other than appointments, they are clueless. It's one of those offices where the staff (especially the one who answers the phone) acts like they are more important than the doctors. I only go for annual checkups so it's been tolerable but now that I just found out I am pregnant, I'm looking for a new doctor, hence looking thru reviews. My husband and I do not want to deal with that staff on a regular basis.

I called for an emergency the first person said hold to find me an appointment and one second later a different person answers with what are you looking for? I said again it's an emergency I need an appointment today if possible she cuts me off with WE HAVE NOTHING ITS A HOLIDAY WEEKEND !! really is this what a sick person what's to hear?? I'm so disappointed by the service. It's already uncomfortable to speak about personal issues.

Horrible !!

Almost 2 hour waiting each visit ! .......1 hour average waiting in the reception. Then average 45 mins waiting time in the examining room. So almost 2 hours waiting before getting to see the doctor. This long waiting time happened on each of the 5 visits !

Assistants & doctors are both extremely rude, and unprofessional.

Its next to impossible to reach the doctor on phone for a follow up.

No Ultra-Sound in the clinic - you are sent to another hospital for ultrasound to verify the baby's heartbeat - which requires a few more days wait, and another un-necessary visit.

I HIGHLY UN-RECOMMEND !!

Dr. Irani has been treating myself and my family members our entire lives. She is rude if you are rude. For those patients whom she knows well and respect her without going in there with an attitude, she is the absolute best. We have NEVER had a problem with her and I would trust her with my life.

The office is incredibly busy for a reason. If she was that terrible, do you think that they would have so many patients? They are not unprofessional. There just happen to be patients that have absolutely no respect for a doctor who sees a million patients in a day and who does tons of high-risk procedures and evaluations.

Expect a wait of at least an hour, and if you stick with her (or Dr. Chait or Dr. D), you will realize that it will be worth it.

And please note - A LONG WAIT TIME AND A DOCTOR HAVING TO TAKE EMERGENCY VISITS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN DOES NOT MEAN THAT SHE IS NOT A REPUTABLE DOCTOR.
