- Excellent #80140

I had the oxtail and it was the best I've EVER!!! Had. Even better than the Jamaican spots on White Plains Road, which is now the former oxtail champs. The pieces were meaty and tasty! Not to mention , I actually was stuffed when I was done and I eat like a beast... The steak on top of the tostones Amazing!!!!

Besides great views and ambiance, the restaurant is excellent with large portions that most can't eat.

The trick having a good time is getting here early and during the week. I would definitely not recommend during weekend peak hours or you're bound to have a horrible time as to place gets extremely loud.

Early dinners and lunch is the perfect time to enjoy his upscale spot.

We waited 3 hours for our food! Mean while others who arrived after us was getting their meals in minutes!! It was my wedding diner party n i was embarrased that my family and friends had to starve all day to come here n starve for another 3 hours!! Then we was forced to pay a high tip for that horrible wait!! I order rice beans and chicken n my plate was cool not hot n my rice was hard!! I took 20 peoples including 6 kids n we waited there with just 1 cup of water!! Smfh! Never again!! It was my first and last time ever!!

Hate this place. Loud, service terrible food is overpriced. I can't believe people see fooled thinking this restaurant is amazing just because it's on city island.

Service was fine, but food was a let down. I ordered the skirt steak which was OK with decent flavor. I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and received what clearly came out of a blue Kraft box. You can do better than that Don Coqui. Also, $37 for a large mixed drink with an extra shot - which didn't have much alcohol to begin with. Really?
