Everything was so perfect the food the music and the workers were all great. Fast service and everything was so good will be back again very soon and will be a regular customer thank you to the owner jimmy for opening such a great place here in yonkers and the name dolphin is perfect. I just moved in the area (8 days to be exact) and had the chance to eat at Dolphin twice (once during dinner & once during lunch time). I am writing this review to offer feedback with the hope that the service in the future will improve. I have limited restaurant options in this area (so it seems) so I really want to see Dolphin thrive & improve because when friends visit me, Dolphin is my most convenient option.

I was with my boyfriend the first time that I visited this restaurant & it happened during the day I moved in one of the buildings in HP. The ambiance was great (great view, fresh air, lights, secured place due to police presence, etc). Overall, the food during dinner was good (not outstanding - yet). However, it is evident that the service is slow & a bit unorganized (e.g., the hostess entertained the needs of another server while SIMULTANEOUSLY talking to us & few other customers too --what is the use of the line?--, long wait before we got seated & long time before the order got taken & food served). My boyfriend & I just shrugged it off thinking that the chefs & servers are perhaps just getting their groove back given that winter season was slow & this might be the first weekend that a lot of people are out & want to get a bite at Dolphin, which explains the little chaos. Our server BTW doesn't seem friendly. But hey, he did his job. He got our order & brought the food which is fair and fine (9:30pm is a bit too late to be friendly).

The second time that I visited Dolphin was when I managed to convince my friends (8 of them) to pass by my place for a bite on their way back to Manhattan from Cape Cod. They were excited because while they didn't get to eat at X20, the view at Dolphin is still amazing and the wind is just great. But then things fell apart after waiting too long for the food. And when it arrived, here is what I/we thought. 1) fish taco was dry & I will never order it for myself. Taco bell is much better than taco here (I think). 2) Salad green mix doesn't look fresh and looked sad. I understand that perhaps, these green mix are fresh in the morning but after being exposed in the wind and sun, it just looked sad and unappetizing. 3) Ceasar salad was served with lettuce and dressing ONLY AND nothing else. We asked three servers for the croutons before one nice hardworking staff came over and seriously took note of what is wrong 4) Chicken sandwich came in exchanged of the Cajun shrimp. It is totally fine if you got the order wrong but to tell your client that oh yes, this is shrimp and think she is stupid to notice is just wrong. 5) Mussels is my favorite appetizer & whenever I see it in the menu, I make it a point that I order it at least once. Of all the mussels that I tried, this is the least exciting. Or perhaps, I am bias because of all the things that already happened.

And I will mention one thing in passing. The prices in the invoice is higher than the prices in the menu. We are not being stingy but we are bunch of auditors/consultants and we felt that it is wrong to not point out something that is obvious.

Ok. So why did I write this review (my 1st time). What do I want to get out of this. Three things which I hope you take note of and work on. 1) The food runner has to do a better job. He/she should check and cross check if order = food being delivered. And he should do quality assurance too (serving a bowl of lettuce with nothing but dressing is just wrong). 2) update the system to reflect the prices that is in the menu. This is not about money but this is about taking care of the reputation that you worked so hard to build. 3) placement of servers should be revisited. they should not be assigned areas that would require them go up & down the hall all the time.

I must note though that there is one amazing staff (he is the Manager perhaps) & it actually seemed that he did most of the job of all the servers present not just in our table but in all of the area. Anyhow, I hope that this review will help you in any way. I look forward for a better experience next time around. :)

Me and my staff love coming here after a rough week. The atmosphere is very serene and the staff is great. Our favorite waiter is Den he makes sure we leave every time happy with our food and drinks. This is a hidden gem for sure. Love, love, love Dolphin Restaurant.The crab nacho and truffle fries are heavenly. Great menu, great drinks and great wait staff. What more can you ask for.

Came to the Dolphin for a late lunch on the Hudson @ 3:45 and was seated outside. Over 20 minutes later a waitress finally showed up with a dinner menu. when we asked for the lunch menu we were told it ended @ 4. We were told we could move around the corner to Cafe Hudson, it was owned by the same people and they served sandwiches. We did.
Big mistake. Food and drinks were very slow from the kitchen, wrong & bad. Ruined a beautiful afternoon.

When I go out to a restaurant, the last thing I want to hear is loud, annoying music being blasted in my ear while I am trying to carry on a conversation with my company. Such is the case with the Dolphin Restaurant. Dining should be an enjoyable experience and mellow music makes it more so. However, the owner(s) of this restaurant seem to feel that loud music makes for fine dining. When I asked that the music be lowered, I was told that the bartender was pouring drinks and when - and only when - he was finished, would he "lower" the music.

As for the food, it really was pretty good. It's just to bad that the dining experience didn't match up!
