Diabetes Endocrinology Metabolism Specialties: Schultz Atara B MD

Horrible experience! I sought an endocrine because I was having trouble losing weight despite a 1200 calorie diet. She basically accused me of lying about my diet saying that I would have "to really try and prove to her that I was trying to lose weight?" How does one prove it? I wrote down everything I ate for 6 weeks and she didn't even look at my food log. She said I was pre-diabetic and needed a diet. And lastly, I showed her dark brown patches on my elbows that she disgnosed as exzema. Well, I went to a NEW endo this week and find out that the brown patches are acanthosis, a symptom of pre-diabetes. She prescribed a script to treat my insulin levels. I highly recommend everyone to be on the look out when dealing with this doctor. A thumbs down!
