Friendly neighborhood bar! Tom, our bartender, was so courteous!

Before today, I have had 3 decent experiences at this establishment. The service was sub-par in my first three experiences - my co-workers and I go to Deweys because of its convenience (proximity to the office). Today was the last straw. Below, I am going to provide an account of today’s experience. I will let you, the reader, decide if you wish to dine at this establishment.

Upon our 1:05pm arrival, our 1:15pm reservation for 5 people was forced to eat at a 2-top (unless we wanted to wait another 30 minutes). After being seated, we could not place our order until about 1:25p - we attempted to initially place our order around 1:10pm, but was told the waiter would be right back. At 1:25pm, the manager was forced to come out and take our order.
My colleague ordered a coffee that did not come with the drinks around 1:35pm. He kindly reminded the waiter that he had ordered a coffee. At 1:45pm, the coffee had still not come out. He again reminded the waiter that he had ordered a coffee. At about 1:52pm, the coffee finally arrived.
Around 2:05pm we were beginning to grow hungry, so asked about the status of our food. We were told the food was coming right out. Fast forward to 2:15pm, the food had still not arrived. The table next to us also noticed what was going on – a kind woman at that table actually gave us her fries to snack on while we were waiting for our order. She had noted that the table next to her actually got up and left after waiting for approximately 90 minutes for their order.

We asked the waiter again at 2:20pm where the food was – at this point in time, there were only two other tables being waited on at the restaurant. One of my colleagues used the restroom around this time. On his way back to the table, he witnessed a waiter offering up plate of food to an individual who appeared to be chummy with the waiter. This individual picked at the fries on the plate and then proceeded to leave the restaurant – presumably, this plate of food was delivered to a patron of the establishment, possibly even us.

Finally, at 2:31pm, an hour and 26 minutes after our arrival, our entrees arrived. However, my colleague’s burger was cold and he asked to speak to the manager. At 2:40pm, still no manager came to the table. I walked in to ask about my colleague’s burger as no one from the restaurant suggested a solution. At 2:45pm, my colleague walked into the bar and asked to speak to the manager. The manager said that he was sorry that the service was slow as two people didn’t show up to work today. He offered up no solution to my colleague.

We decided to wait a few more minutes at the table for the restaurant to redeem itself. However, at 2:52pm, we decided enough was enough, and we walked out. No one from the restaurant came to the table to offer a solution for the cold burger.

After today’s experience, we will not being going back. I would urge everyone consider today’s events before they choose to dine at this restaurant.

Excellent customer service and the food was good overall. The burgers are delicious.
