Dr. Mayman was extraordinary in every way in how he cared for my husband who put off getting a knee replacement for years. We met with many surgeons over a 3 year period - all good surgeons who told my husband they didn't understand how he could walk with his "bone-on-bone" pain. Dr. Mayman gave my husband the confidence to go ahead with the surgery. And it was a great success. We can barely see the scar. My husband stuck with the PT as Dr. Mayman stressed how critical this was. Today, at 75, he walks with the same speed and assuredness as he did when he was 35. Quite amazing. And the staff at the Hospital for Special Surgery is the absolute best in every way imaginable. Thank you Dr. Mayman for turning my husband's life around - and mine - with this smooth-going surgery.

I was 18 and had a severe car accident leaving me with a fused left hip and my leg 1/2 inch shorter than right for 32 years. My back pain was so severe it really impeded my life. I met with Dr. Mayman and for the first time I felt like I had a chance to get my life back. He was one of the few doctors who had experience taking down a fusion and replacing it. After the operation I stood straight for the first time in 32 years. He lengthened my leg and I know longer needed a lift. Dr. Mayman performed a total hip replacement for me back in the Fall of 2007. It has performed flawlessly since that time. And since that time I've read of many horror stories of failed replacements due to faulty parts, and possibly procedures.

Dr. Mayman chose the best available parts, and combined with his skills gave me a new lease on life.
