Crosstown Custom Shade and Glass is an excellent company to use if you are considering custom window treatments. We recently hired Crosstown to install motorized Hunter Douglas Window Treatments in our home. From the outset, they were exceptionally professional in all aspects of the process. The necessary measurements of the windows to create the custom treatments were made with laser precision. The proprietors, Marcy and Jeff Karpel , were very patient in sorting through the myriad choices of window treatments and helped to choose the right ones for us. Everyone was courteous and punctual. All work was performed as promised and on time. Post- installation, the staff was readily available to answer any technical or operational questions. We are very pleased with the results and would definitely make Crosstown our first choice for any future work.

Crosstown has now done 2 projects for me. Both totally met my expectations. The first project was replacing some ugly art work in a lovely old frame with a beveled mirror . The change in my living room was marked after hanging my “new” mirror.

The second project was definitely more complicated as it involved removing a shower stall around my old bathtub and installing a new one. This update was complicated by the fact that the tub in my prewar UWS apartment features a turn that required adding a small third pane to the glass stall.

The entire project took place in several stages. First came uninstallation of the old shower stall and measuring, so the correct extra pieces could be made to ordered. Next came reinstallation during which time it was noticed that several adjustments needed to be made. Finally, after a careful evaluation of the adjustments needed and discussions with the owners the job was completed.

I was treated respectfully throughout the entire process and the fact that the business is located in the neighborhood meant that Crosstown was familiar with my UWS building and that when I needed to discuss the project as it was progressing I could easily stop by the store to talk directly with Marcy Karpel, one of the owners who helped be with the best solutions throughout the entire project.

I had shades and blinds installed.
Marcy was so great to work with, and after discussions and a visit to my apartment, she helped me select the perfect treatments for my kitchen, dinning room, and bedroom. She is so knowledgeable and professional. I love the results! I highly recommend Marcy and her team at Crosstown, and I am sure that I will ask for their assistance in the future.

After searching for a while I found Crosstown Custom Shade and Glass, I went in thinking that I needed a new glass shower door. I was given a quote, by Marcy in the W 86th St location, and a date for the technician, Kevin, to come by and measure for the new door. I had emailed a set of pictures of the existing hinges to see if we could use them again. When Kevin arrived he said he thought that he could realign the door and replace the bottom gasket and I should be good for another 20 years. An hour later he was right, the door does not leak any more and most important my wife is very happy. The final cost was much less that the new door would have been.
