As a member of CFWS since October of 2012, there is no way I could have anticipated the positive impact it has had on my life. My experience with gyms and trainers had been pretty spotty. I’d get bored and discouraged very quickly. Some of the trainers I had were inconsistent - sometimes not showing up, often encouraging me to do more than I was capable of at the moment and often times I would get injured.
My experience at CFWS has been the complete opposite in every way. Each coach is incredibly skilled. They are gifted in how they teach technique, manage a class and relate to each athlete on an individual level - helping each to improve. The coaches push the athletes to achieve their goals -yet never beyond their capability. I’ve had coaches push me to do more - and I’ve also been advised to scale back when necessary. I’ve always been in good hands regardless of who is coaching. They are dedicated and passionate about their work. During the time I’ve been a member at CFWS my confidence has increased and while I’m a slow learner, with patience and dedication to form and safety on the part of my coaches, and a willingness to show up and take cues on my part, I’ve been able to make make progress that I wouldn’t have guessed possible. This has been true in the areas of strength, stamina, form and mobility -- all of which are challenges for me.
The owners, Paul and Keith, have set a tone for support and accountability within the community at CFWS. One of the truly unexpected benefits of membership has been getting to know and care for my fellow athletes. The amount of support and encouragement that takes place in any given class only adds to the overall experience. There is a degree of comradeship and good humor that makes really tough workouts possible.
Because of my time at CFWS, I can honestly say I’m in the best shape I have ever been. Much in my life has improved as a result --including my overall health. Prior to being a member I was beginning to have symptoms of arthritis - this has gone away after less than a year. I also suffer from asthma - while still on medication, I have cut my dose in half. My food plan has changed dramatically and I find I make much better choices. I’ve lost well over 25 lbs and kept the weight off -and this wasn’t even a goal when I first began.
If you’re considering beginning a fitness program, or making a change in what you’re currently doing, I’d recommend giving CFWS a try. You’ll find yourself welcomed, challenged, supported and most importantly you’ll see measurable results.
