It's a pretty good and well maintained indoors range. Been going there for years. Staff is friendly and helpful, if you need to, if not -they'll leave you alone, as long as you be within safety rules and regulation. Safety is pretty big thing in this range and in my eyes it's a tremendous plus.

I liked that it was a 15 minute bus ride from my home. From the Bedford Park subway stop along the 4, the Bee Line's 20 bus drops off on Central Park Ave and McLean. From there, it's only a short walk to Coyne Park.

The elderly gentlemen that were running the place when I went were nice enough. Since I don't have a permit in New York, they provide a package that includes lane time, rental of a .22 rifle, 100 rounds of ammo, 2 targets, and eye/ear protection. As of this post, $58 per person.

Note: When I've gone to ranges in Arizona, if I'm new to the place, I'm required to review safety rules and/or watch a safety video. At Coyne Park, I was asked if I had experience shooting. I replied yes and was left to my own devices. Not sure what to make of that.

The range officer(?) showed me the operation of the rifle which was simple enough. Although I didn't take note of it at the time, the rifle looked like and probably was a polymer Ruger 10/22 with a 10 round magazine. It looked and felt like the equipment was well-maintained as I experienced zero malfunctions.

The mechanism to place your targets at the desired distance was operated by hand wheel. There's a certain charm to it, so no points off for that. The facility itself was clean and uncluttered.

I have to admit that I've been spoiled by the quality of facilities at the Scottsdale Gun Club, but I suppose that for a public range in New York, beggars can't be choosers. Overall, it was a positive experience. I plan on bringing some family and friends here to introduce them to the shooting sports. I don't want their only exposure to firearms to be be from television and movies. Coyne Park Rifle and Pistol Range seems like a decent enough place to give them a taste of what it's all about.

Afterward, the nearby strip mall would be a nice place to grab some grub or coffee.

Went here with my girlfriend for our first time shooting. The place was a bit overwhelming at first but the staff was friendly and well-to-do. prices were great... 45 for all equipment and range rentals plus 100 .22 rounds. was an absolute blast!

I went to shoot here on Saturday morning. The weather was really terrible, so I believe more people came out to shoot. It only has 7 lanes, so you might have to wait. The people there are nice and only ask that you follow the safety guidelines. Their prices are cheap and you don't need to apply for a membership.

It's an old facility where you have to hand crank the targets and guess the yardages. If you are looking for the amenities of most ranges, then I would suggest a few other locations. They were out of ammunition. I'll be coming back to this place again.
