Inventive and truly tasty cooking. Over the years, Contra has become better and better, with a keen focus on ingredients and superb execution. The atmosphere is casual (and the place very small) but this is one of the best tasting menus in the city.
A quick note on my rating scale: 5 stars = exceptional food & service; 4 stars = excellent food & service; 3 stars = decent to good (top-of-the-line for fast service restaurants); 2 stars = mediocre; 1 star = not recommended.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! From the moment we walked in, the service was top notch! We had a drink at the bar while we waited for our table, the drinks were fabulous. I recommend the punch. Then the sat us down and had plate after plate of amazing dishes and wine that paired perfectly. The manager Johnny was so hospitable, and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and inviting as well. Definitely will be returning!

On top of a great team and food that was delicious, melon with prosciutto, seabass, pasta with ragu and tiramisu, they had a simple, interesting Italian wine list, with fair prices, the kind of wine list this neighborhood badly needs. And the bottle we picked was great.
