Claire Durkin, NP

Out of all the doctors I've seen, my experience with Claire has been the absolute worst. It's so bad that I'm actually leaving the clinic and going to another facility which means I will no longer be able to see my therapist I've been seeing for almost a year and a half. I have a great relationship with my therapist and now I'm going to lose that because Claire took me off all the medication that helped me and completely messed everything up. Since she has taken me off the medications I've been on for years, I can't sleep. When I do fall asleep, I have the worst nightmares and she cut the dose of my anxiety medication in half so now I have panic attacks constantly. I have a history of not doing well on anti-depressants and after not being on any for over a year, she put me on Zoloft even though any doctor who has treated me in the past would know that's the WORST thing she could possibly do. I admit I get depressed sometimes but when I take anti-depressants, I have a history of becoming suicidal. Apparently, this doesn't matter to her since she told me she knows I don't do well on these medications, yet she put me back on them anyway. Now I have to start all over with another doctor. To anyone else who has a problem with her and wants an alternative, I recommend the epilepsy foundation. They offer mental health services and everyone I've spoken to there has been great. They were recommended to me by a close friend of mine and I'm very thankful because without her, I would be stuck with a doctor who doesn't really seem to care about my issues or the effects the medication has on me. I don't appreciate being treated like a guinea pig.
