This place really doesn't deserve best fried chicken. I mean it was tasty, but not amazing. And the attitude of the person behind the counter was terrible - didn't even want to talk to me and it doesn't seem I'm alone in these reviews. Won't be coming back

The food was horrible dried out tasteless and cold. the servers were angry and act if they hated life and anybody in it. The drinks was some overly extra sweet pure sugar tea. When I asked for ice, they said no. So the tea was hot and the food was cold. This has been the worst experience that I have probably ever had in my life. They should not again they should not be considered anybody soul food restaurant!!!

CJ and I went to Charles' restaurant on on Sunday 5/17 after the Mets game. We traveled from Vermont to do both and we were not disappointed.The fried chicken is AMAZING!! We were fortunate enough to meet Charles as he returned from a community event. A must go if you live or traveling to NYC.

Want a real taste of soul food?

Charles' is the place to go! This hole-in-the-wall establishment (lit up with neon) is fantastic!

Everything from their Mac N' Cheese, Collard Greens, Candied yams, beans and of course their fried chicken are to die for. I would list the whole menu but not sure I have the space to do it.

If you're in this neighborhood; whether living here or visiting, Charles Country Pan Fried chicken is a stop that you need to make!
