Central Florist

Our family ordered flowers for the birthday of our 91 year old mother/grandmother. We left specific instructions in writing with the order, and then followed up with a phone call and voice mail instructions, asking that if she was not there the flowers should be left at her apartment door. At 91, it would be very difficult for her to carry the flowers any distance, hence the request. However, either Central Florist did not bother to provide this guidance to its delivery person, or the delivery person chose to just ignore it and instead brought the flowers to an office in the next building (my mother had gone out briefly to Rite Aid). It was absolutely impossible for her to get the flowers from there. With the help of some friends we managed to recover, but Central Florist's abysmal Customer Service made what was supposed to be a nice surprise into a very difficult situation. We will never be using their services again!

I was ordering flowers for a funeral service 3000 miles away. The florist website was linked from the funeral home. The order process was very simple. Once the order was completed the florist called to say the arrangement I chose was not available. They offered to put together a nice arrangement for the service. I agreed. I do appreciate that they called to let me know my choice was not available. But the bottom line is, I have no idea what was finally derived to the service. It could have been great or not. Buying flowers on line is very tricky. How do you ever know what you are getting?

Here's a million dollar idea. Email the sender a photo of the arrangement just before it is delivered.

Several days later I heard from the recipients of the flowers. They said they were magnificent. They said that they knew the flowers were from me because they were so creative and beautiful. Thank you Central Florist for making my presents felt when I could not be there.
