Used to go there several times a week after playing Rec League Softball 35 years ago. Griff and Paulie were the bartenders. It had great pizza and a pool table. There was a guy Waldo who would come in with his softball team and talk about how great he did in the game they just finished, and his friends would deny everything he claimed.

I currently live in San Diego but grew up in Carteret. Whenever I return to NJ to visit my family, Center Bar is always on the agenda. Love those pies! My brother is crazy about the meat salad. The ambience is unbeatable. I don't think it's changed since I was a kid.

This was my neighborhood pizza place growing up. I now live in Atlanta and have to make my own to have decent pie. My pizza role model is this pie, last time I was there about 4 years ago, Nicky was still in the kitchen-what's up Nick
