Cool bike path by the water but it's not obvious where the path starts since its kind of neglected and overgrown. Go to the parking lot in the back of the park and look for a dirt path leading into creepy woods. Once you get past the creepy overgrown part, you get to a fun bike path (as seen on google maps) that takes you to some interesting waterfront. I found a sand dollar on the beach there - a brooklyn sand dollar!

Not easy to access, except for cars and driving along Shore Road (toward Coney Island) - and the signage is next to non-existent. There's far more space, than is ever apparent from the roadway. The entrances are narrow, but this park is very big. Oddly shaped as if it's half-designed/restored and half abandoned. Once you're in, you'll see a section on the right with two, large spectacular soccer fields (one has lights, and seating/bleachers). Beyond that are baseball fields. The, there's even more lawn space far off and hidden beyond the parking lot -- in all directions but the highway. However, once you walk away from your cars.. they're in jeopardy. Break-ins are common, so don't leave anything visible (window smashers will hit you, and drive off).

Great for bonefires during the summers if your into that kind of thing....or being alone with somebody and its quite peaceful with the lack of people in that park. Especially in the 'secret area'
