Reviews to Café Loup
Cafe Loup is an excellent French restaurant. True to French tradition, they offer a prix fixe menu. The wait staff is very friendly, well-informed, and eager to answer any questions you may have.
I had the moules marinières for my main course. While usually a fast-food dish, the preparation here was excellent. The mussels were not sandy or gritty, showing that they had been fed and given time to purge themselves of sand. The wine sauce was rich and tasty. The mayonnaise was freshly made and a nice complement to the fried potatoes. The selection of sorbets was intensely flavored!

Bathrooms are old and filthy. I can only imagine the kitchen. Major turn off.

The restaurant is charming, and the prix fixe food was excellent. Unfortuatenly, the waiter we had - an older guy - was something straight out of a movie, disappearing for long stretches so that a dinner which could have been an hour or 90 minutes was 2 hours plus, and I had to clamber for the check. Could we get separate checks? "No." Could he pack some of my left over food for take out? What was that? Either he was way too busy - the place was crowded - or having a bad night or he was a snob. All this was rendered worse by the room temperature in the back, where they seated us, being very hot. I was sweating and trapped while trying simply to pay up and leave. A greater emphasis on customer service would go a long way here.

Loved it. Listened to The Junior Mance Trio, excellent jazz musicians. Food was delicious. Service was great, provided by Gail, she was helpful and entertaining. Very romantic setting. Could not have been better.
