Please if you are looking for a place in Brooklyn and you see Cabbad Family LLC as the "management"... do not take the apartment.
I lived in one of their buildings for over a year and had the worst experience with the Landlord. Myself and fellow tenants attempted contacting her and the "management" company several times because of the unsafe conditions in the building. All complaints had fallen on deaf ears. No one got back to us or attempted to do anything.
The building smelled of cat urine and trash which affected me and other tenants health. All of the tenants on my floor had to stuff wash cloths in between the wall and the radiator because of all the cockroaches that would come from the unit below. We attempted calling 311 but because Debra does not answer, nothing was to be done.
We decided to call it quits and deal with the horrible conditions until we found a place to move. Once out it took them three months to give us our security deposit back and upon receiving it we realized they took out $1400 for "cleaning". We lived in a less then 500sq ft apartment, that is literally impossible.
We have been attempting to contact them and requested receipts for this and they refuse to speak to us. We are having to deal with small claims court.
The Cabbad Family LLC and Debra Cabbad are not worth the frustrations. Do not let them steal your money too.
