Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center

My aunt was a resident at the Brookdale Nursing home for many years. The nurses took very good care of her. I visited her every wk or 2 so I got to know the nurses and other staff members. I found them to be very friendly and professional to all patients and families at all times.

If i could give no star at all and pull the switch to shut this b***ch down.. all staff will speak to you as if you're uneducated. Doctors approach you numerous times and not know what you're there for. They will try to keep you just to milk your insurance.
I have gotten wisdom teeth extracted and due to being on blood thinners i lost too much blood.
After recovering they allowed my INR levels to get too low yet they have taken my blood 3 times yesterday to monitor it.. now im here waiting on results for a cat scan that was done yesterday and being told I can't go home today but I'm not being told why

The neurosurgery team saved my life and brought me almost completely back to normal working side by side with my Primary Doctor, my ENT Doctor, my Orthopedic Surgeon, and a multitude of other professionals. The nurses were caring and helpful. I have nothing but good things to say and remember from Brookdale Hospital.

My great aunt who is 91-years-old went to Brookdale Hospital because she had stomach pains...The hospital was informed that she suffered with dementia. They allowed her to fall out of the bed and break her hip! Now, she has to have hip surgery. Oh, the stomach pains were gallstones which took the back seat to an emergency that they caused! DO NOT GO THERE! IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

So much of what is written here is just plain wrong. This hospital is clean, newly renovated in many areas with new renovations in progress. It has a new, dedicated administration that is focused on delivering quality care to our neighborhood. And most of all, some of the best, most dedicated doctors, nurses and staff I met anywhere.

Some of the comments about this hospital are just not fair. For example, there is a comment in which the author acknowledges that the neurosurgery team "saved my life" but then gives the hospital a poor grade because of a disagreement with the GI team after discharge.

I implore all patients who have had great care at Brookdale to add their comments too. And we know of many.
