Brix NYC LLC

I go to Brix and its tasty sister store Barnyard regularly. They are THE place for gifts and home parties. I always ask for whoever is working to tell me their favorites and I have never been anything less than perfectly pleased. For those wondering their suggestions are NOT the most expensive ones, just their favorites. . The tasting area at Brix is devine as they often have snack provided by Barnyard. I had the most amazing pate and cheese while I sampled some of the new wine stock.I am consistently surprised by how small my total is when I'm walking out of there. 2 bottles of wine 4 diff cheeses a 1/3lb of pate and 2 breads was less than $ 50 I live on the block so signing up for the mailing list and getting briefed on all the in store tasting parties they have as one of my better decisions. They also have a childrens play area...BRILLIANT.

Beatriz and Darrin's beautiful, friendly little wine shop has a attracted a devoted following in the neighborhood. And deservedly so. Brix has a carefully selected offering of wines, sparklers, fortified wines, sakes, and interesting spirits (i love the rums, bourbons, and cognac) for every price range and occasion. They also make great gift baskets and have frequent tastings and are very child-friendly (there's even a kids' art station to occupy children while their parents shop). No pressure, very relaxed and welcoming, even for newcomers to wine. Well worth a detour.

This little off the corner wine shop is UNIQUE. You walk in and you are greated by Beatrice. She is the absolutely amazing. She new my name after the first time I went there. She new what I liked and directed me too it immediately in my price range. She did not try to upsell me. A sales technique I hate. If I had $50 to spend on a bottle of wine I would be asking for a $50 bottle of wine. She directs you to what you want and I have always been satisfied by a selection she chose for me. Don't forget to try the Sangria. WOW, excellent for a picnic.

The chilled red series tasting she has been doing is amazing. Never knew you could chill a red. I have learned so much from the store. I LOVE IT..

Her wine tastings are excellent and alot of fun. It caters to the local east village community and small businesses.
