This nail salon is located only 2 blocks from my home; so I literally walk to the salon after making appointment. I have been giving them business ever since they opened the salon in Hillside Avenue. In the beginning the service was okay. Andy is the owner, who is Korean. Lately, I find the salon too expensive and the service not that good. The workers are ignorant, specially this Hispanic girl, Marissa. She has done my nails over 10 times at least, I still see her not greeting or smiling and sort of rude. I gave her good tips in the past for mani/pedi. The other day I saw her talking and making fun of me with another client in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, but I understand and I think she was rude. I didn't tell her anything and after I did my manicure and pedicure by Lisa (Chinese Woman); I walked out. I don't think I am going back to Blue Nails ever. Simple manicure and pedicure I can drive down to Jericho Turnpike and do it very cheaply. If they continue this, Blue Nails Salon is going to be out of business soon. Every business should be etiquette and be professional. And communicating with your customers and making positive impressions with clients is necessary, specially long term clients. So Goodbye Blue Nails Salon. To Andy the owner in Korean- annyeonghi gaseyo!

I went there out of desperation because I needed my nails done asap. The woman I got was extremely nice. She gave me a good hand massage, and did a great job on my nails. She understood how I wanted my accent nail done, so there was not much of a language barrier. The price was fair ($8.50), the service was good, and my nails came out perfectly. This is definitely my new go-to spot.

They do a decent job on your nails, but they hoard you for tips. I've been going there lately because of the convenience and they are in my neighborhood. however, They are rude and not happy with the tips they get, which would have been gladly appreciated by another nail place. I've tipped generously, but the ladies there make a fuss for more tip and were greedy. One lady even went out of her way to tell me that more tip means better service! they should be thankful we are tipping at all, considering their lack of social and customer service skills along with a major language barrier! better service means more tip! duh!
