Second best part of my trip to NY. The first best was Rockwood Music Hall, which I heard about from someone I met in this restaurant. So maybe Black Tree is the best part of my trip

We first went to Black Tree, Manhattan, after salivating over the winter pig we saw being made on a tv show. We met Nash the cook and he suggested different foods on the menu, and made our food with love and pride. We returned many times over and the place was usually full, and we were always in love with his service and the food.
On many occasions my husband and I would call to determine the protein being served for the week, but they had no working phone. We would then visit the FB page, but that was not updated, showing the menu from weeks prior.
Last Sunday we were there for the week of the cow and Nash was no longer in their employ, but the food was still incredible. There were only 4 other customers. We wanted to share the experience with our carnivorous children, so we decided to go to the Brooklyn restaurant which the website said closes at midnight. We drove from Long Island to Brooklyn and they said they were closed and suggested we should try the Manhattan site. It was 10:55pm. We tried calling, but of course, no working number. We drove to the Manhattan site and at 11.25, they too were closed. Needless to say we were livid and our children disappointed!!!! The trio who congregated at the bar offered us a shot for the inconvenience. We ended up eating at Burger King in Queens.
This is a great restaurant, with great service, but the unpredictability of this place makes it a gamble to take the trek. The owner should place equal focus on ensuring the success of both sites, ensuring customers can reach them by phone, updating their FB page, especially if they will close early. Those are critical parts of the customer experience which dictates if customers return.

Farms to table awesomeness. Had a pulled pork burrito, bao potbelly sandwich, and a short rib arugula and blue cheese sandwich. All were fantastic, two had arugula, which is more awesomeness.
Great little causal place.

Delicious, creative food at very reasonable prices, till late Fri/Sat. Hipster farm-to-table – menu rotates weekly, always oozing flavor. Rather good cocktails and picklebacks, ok beer, acceptable wine. Kinda crowded, music a bit loud. = LES find!
