Beyond Nails &SPA

Don't pay attention to older reviews, new owners have made salon a pleasure..After my favorite place changed owner I was looking for a new place who could take care of my nails, waxing etc.. The salon is clean and the operators are always nice. I love the way they do my manicure and care about their services..and there's free parking on the side

I go there all the time and always have a great experience. Its clean and i like that they use disposable files and buffers.

I've been there twice. The first time they did try to upsell us - what salon doesn't? - but we said no and they dropped it. Don't fault the salon for your inability to say no to a more expensive service.

The salon is very nice and clean and they give you a shoulder massage while your nails dry which not all places do.

Of course a $80 pedicure is a little extreme but I don't find their prices for regular mani/pedis to be more than other local places.

Also, they have the new OPI Axxium which I'm excited to try.

Yesterday was my second trip to Shalom Three nail salon in Millburn, and it will be my last. Both times I went in for a basic manicure and pedicure. And both times, as soon as I was seated, with the pedicurist putting my feet in the warm, soapy water and my hands being attended to by the manicurist, the woman I assume is the owner or manager came over to me, brochure in hand, and tried to strong-arm me into buying a far more expensive package.

I can understand and even appreciate trying to make a sale, but yesterday she was really obnoxious. She literally leaned over me and tried to get me to buy gel tips. I kept telling her no thank you, but she kept insisting. When I finally told her I could not afford it, she shrugged and told me to charge it. A $25 manicure and pedicure is a splurge for me, and she was trying to sell me a $125 procedure that I did not even want. I kept saying no and finally she gave me a dirty look and walked away. It was enough of a scene that the woman doing my nails apologized in a whisper after the other woman had walked away.

They had all asked my name and called me by name when I first got there, someone had taken my coat, someone else had gotten me coffee ... but after I refused the more expensive gels, no one spoke another word to me. It was a horribly uncomfortable experience. As I said, it was the second time I had gone through a situation like that at this salon. After the first time I was willing to give them a second chance, but after yesterday ... never again.
