So my husband and I went to dinner at Benihana in Menlo Park, Nj. I have to say that it was the worst dinner experience I've ever had. Place was filthy service was just as bad, food was ok, tasteless. First and last time that's for sure.

Liked the concept. The chef prepares the food on the dining table. So instant serving. You get to choose some ingredients.

I was skeptical to dine here based on reviews but a family member wanted to celebrate their birthday here for dinner. I was surprised and impressed!! Great atmosphere, I took my 2.5 year old and it was loud enough to muffle his toddler outbursts but still able to communicate within our table. Loved the layout of the table, the u-shales configuration allowed for a visual of the entire party unlike traditional square table (party of 8). The staff was very friend and attentive, regularly checking in on us. The food was very good! Had the hibachi steak w/ fried rice and it was cooked perfectly. The entertainment wasn't unique in terms of table side hibachi tricks, but still loads of fun. Would not hesitate to return for sure!

On Thursday September 24th I went to this restaurant for the first time accompanied by some employees and I loved it until I found A BIG fly in my salad. I then walked over to the manager In stead of making a scene, who he then looked at it and stood speechless with made of even worst, I looked at him and said, well what are you gonna do about this he then stared at me like I spoke another language and said I'll come over when the bill comes. So of course politely and trying to be as nice as possible I said ok, after all said and done he never walked to the table I had to walk and find him AGAIN which made me very upset. The funny thing is if his customer service was much better then it was the whole experience would have been greater and I would have forgiven the fact that I had a fly in my salad but he just made me not ever wanna go there without thinking of a fly in my food. The chef was awesome tho I can say that but your manager needs some lessons on customer service, I'm the lead of customer service department in a corporate office I think I could teach you a few things!!!
