So last night my husband and I took our kids out to eat at Applebee's in Coney Island Veterans Day as we are sitting there a older woman with her service dog and a few friends mind you they are veterans who served our country to protect us walk in the manager and workers told her she was not welcome in with her dog she tried to explain to the manager he is a service dog who just lost his owner in Afghanistan and the manager did not want to hear anything my husband and I wanted to get up and leave but our kids were in the middle of eating. I will never go back there again. do not support Applebee's in Coney Island how can you turn a veteran away especially on Veterans Day

Not any different then all other applebee's or TGI Friday, but this one happens to have a shark tank and a balcony on the second floor overlooking Coney Island, which is a nice way to grab a drink and meet a sunset. and 2 for 20 meal is a great deal :)

It had some of the worst service I've experienced. The meals my girlfriend & I ordered were sub-par at best. Her chicken fingers looked & tasted like the were microwaved. The 7 oz. Steak I had tasted rubbery & didn't really even look like steak. The service was horrible. Never once did our waitress come around & fill our drink or even ask. The only reason we ever even got out of there was because I had to stop her & ask for the check. Also, at one point, I had to plug my phone up & the host just told me to plug it up in the walkway. Luckily we were seated within eyeshot of the walkway or else I would have to get up & check every few moments. I'm not expecting Applebee's to be a 5 star restaurant but I'm also not expecting to have horrible service.

From the moment I walked in this Applebee's franchise, I was under the impression that it was up to the standards of the wonderful experience my husband and I had at the Applebee's on 2505 Emmons Ave. We walked in at 4pm(Happy Hour) and I asked if we had to sit at the bar in order to take advantage of indulging in their "RED APPLE SANGRIA" during happy hour or can we sit at a booth and we were told by the manager that we may sit at one of the booths and take advantage of Happy hour there but the waitress told us that wasn't the case. My mouth was watering for the Red Apple Sangria but it listed as a Happy Hour option. Only peach, white and berry were the options. Right then and there we opted to have a pitcher, pay regular price, for the Red Apple Sangria. This wasn't the same and when I alerted the waitress, she told us the bartender was new. Too many lemons and limes made the Sangria on the sour side and the bartender definitely didn't put the apple slice/balls or cherry or apple liqueur that it needed to make it taste as a Red Apple Sangria. We ordered the Spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was PURE SALT, so much that it was hard to swallow and definitely not palatable. We were reluctant to receive our entree at that point but hoped for the best. The entree we ordered was the Bourbon chicken and shrimp with potatoes and the potatoes were doused in SALT. We saw the salt first, then the wedges of potato. If I could visually show you by posting a photo, let's just say, seeing is believing. We just couldn't eat them or totally enjoy our meal completely. It's a shame because in this day and age, going out is a luxury and managers should take pride in overlooking the dishes in order to guarantee a return visit from good paying customers. When the waitress asked us how our food was, I'm not the type to be doom and gloom or be negative but I just couldn't lie. It was bad and this particular Applebee's on Surf Ave in Coney Island, we'll never return. It was just one horrible experience! We paid our bill in full and left but I'm alerting you here so you make a better choice about dining at this specific location.

Danika and I came here after spending a day at the beach. We wanted nothing more than to enjoy some drinks and food while cooling down with some nice AC. The place was empty when we arrived but it took a bit of time before we were seated. The waiter took their sweet time to come, took our order and never came back to check on us. We had to flag someone down for water, silverware and plates. Our apps came before we even got plates and silverware to eat it with. The food was the typical Applebee's fare with incompetent service to go with it.
