Terrific from start to finish. I realize everyone may have had a difference experience but Dr Allen was awesome with me. So was his resident assistant (some tall white dude). His PA, Amy, I think was great. Loved her professionalism. His back office team (scheduling, insurance, benefits), were very helpful.

If you are in the unfortunate position to have ACL reconstructive surgery for a first, second or third time like me......on both knees, see Dr Allen.

BTW - he was not the cause of my many surgeries...it is my dumb ambition to continuously push myself.

I highly recommend Dr. Allen. After re-tearing my ACL and meniscus at 40, I was hesitant to get revision surgery. My first ACL old school repair, over 20 years prior, was a painful experience. I recall much swelling, numbness and I never fully recovered complete range of motion. I spoke to a few local orthopedic consultants and they regarded HSS as the best option for a successful correction and recovery. I carefully vetted the available surgeons, and choose Dr. Allen based on ratings and experience. As soon as I contacted Dr. Allen’s office they had me in immediately for a consultation. These guys are top tier professionals and move quick. Which is good when you’re contemplating evasive surgery that will help you in the long term, but lay you up for the short. What I liked is that Dr. Allen took the time to talk through all potential scenarios, showing that he’s in it to do what’s right, not just the bottom line. I choose a hamstring graft and was scheduled for surgery within a week. My experience post-surgery was miraculous. My swelling was manageable and I had very little pain. I was able to put pressure on my leg on day 2 and start PT one week later with amazing results. The stability and lack of pain has far exceeded my expectations. I’ve read that ACL surgery effects people differently, depending on many factors. But I attribute the great experience to Dr. Allen’s precision as a surgeon. Plus he’s a solid individual who clearly loves what he does.

Dr. Allen and his team are remarkable. I tore my meniscus and was in much pain. I was recommended by a friend to Dr. Allen. I called his office and explained my situation and Steven, working on the phone, booked me for the next available appointment. At the time, due to pain and swelling, I had thought I tore my ACL. After meeting with Dr. Allen's nurse we came to the conclusion it was either a MCL tear or a tear of the lateral meniscus. Doctor Allen then checked my knee and confirmed it was a meniscal tear. The entire team made me feel like a friend and aided me through the process. A week later I had my meniscus repaired by doctor Alen. I'm very pleased with everything and cant thank Dr. Allen enough. I can't wait to start PT and this road to recovery.
