Excellent service, fair prices; got my bike up and running to peak performance. I had them put on a new tire as well as a complete tune-up on my '97 Valkyrie and will be going back next week to get new front and rear brakes. I highly recommend these guys.

(this is what I wrote on yelp but wanted to share on google too)

These guys are Great! Friendly, Fair prices and Knowledgeable and Skilled. What more do you want in a mechanic?

Do you have an older model bike? Does it have carburetors? Mine does. These guys had my bike tuned up and running like new after several other shops told me to just junk my bike and buy a new one. American Motorcycle even came to my house to pick up the bike for a nominal fee. While work was being done on the bike photo updates were also sent my way -which I appreciated very much.

These guys are what you want from a mechanic. Honest upfront and good. I found these guys through a neighbor but I hope you find them through me.

I hope this review helps. Because I want them to be around for a while! Finding a shop like this is a rarity.

I know they also do detailing and some frame work too buy not sure on the specifics ~

I have a 2000 Yamaha YZF-R6 and have been jerked around my every other brick-and-mortar bike shop in the greater tri-city area in dealing with my carburetors. After repairing the majority of damage done by other shops I brought the bike to American for bike tuning. They had been recommended by my bikes previous owner. Not only was the staff real with me, their pricing and turnaround were great and confidence inspiring. I had my bike back in less than an hour and I never thought it could run so well. Other shops like Pit Stop, in Union City, looked at my bike as a piece of sh*t cause it had carburetors and charged me 4 TIMES what American would have charged to fix the bike right from the start! (see my review of Pit Stop on Google). I have had very bad dealings with every other bike shop in the area from Bayonne, Jersey City, Paterson and Newark and only American has proven that

1.) THEY HONESTLY KNOW WTF THEIR DOING (they don't "make it up as they go along"
2.) know bikes so well that they price their work honestly, accurately and up front with no bullsh*t,
3.) don't criticize and work equally well on all types/years/makes of bikes

I found out when I was there that American had actually the shop that had installed the new tires, clutch and performed the full service on the bike for its previous owner just before it was stored and I subsequently bought it. The rest of the bike needed no more maintenance or adjustment because I had just been serviced. I DIDN'T KNOW THIS, THEY COULD HAVE TOLD ME IT ALL NEEDED TO BE DONE AGAIN AND CHARGED ME FOR THE WORK!!! This is something I would have expected from the shops in the area, but American has more integrity than all the rest put together.

CONCLUSION: If you live within 50 miles of 2 Belmont Ave in Paterson, NJ then save yourself all the bullsh*t that comes with dealing with other shops and bring your bike to American Motorcycle.
