My experience at American Institute was one of a kind, Everyone starting from the director to the maintenance were extremely nice. It was almost like a coming home feeling. I loved helping Basi & Mrs. Muse at their office!! There was never an awkward moment or an uncomfortable feeling, laughs every day & beautiful memories made. It's an experience I'll never forget, I'm going to miss you guys so much !!
Zuzel, Cristina & Gen were more then nice also. They we're professional in every way, answered all the questions and explained everything that you needed to know clearly. All the reps were really helpful & friendly.
The teachers were also veryyyy helpful, a special shout out to DR. Aquino !!! You helped up a lot !!!!!!! & in every way possible!
Thank you to every one at AI. Love you guys !!!!

Attended the DMS program. This educational institution is one on one and provides each individual served with the best education possible. In addition to the various instructional methods, the Director of Education makes it a point to know each individual student.

Will never ever recommend anyone to this school, aside from them not understanding NO or I cannot do the program right now it was just a horrible experience. I don't think I need to explain myself as to why I can't commit to the program I had said various times Personal Reasons and they just kept pushing and pushing as to why I should do the program and then to top it all off, all I wanted was information on the program and see if this program was suitable for me and before I knew it I was signing my life away with all this paper work, and then I had told one of the recruiters I wasn't going to be able to do it they still told me I had to come in on a Saturday morning to sign cancelation papers. When I got there I was told that I didn't need to sign anything. They lied to me, wasted my time, and you can find the same programs for thousands of dollars cheaper at your community college!

Reviews are very important in this day and age, and I am one to do much research prior to anything I buy or do, so here we go! **I can only speak for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program!** In order to attend the school the first criteria you have to meet is having a Bachelors degree. This is a plus because that means you are expected to be a professional from the start! As many of you may be, I too, was skeptical to go here because it is a certificate program and not a degree. Prior to this school, I was in the medical field, (but Dental the other side!) It all starts from the first impression, with that, Tei left a lasting one. She made sure to personally be accessible to any future/current/past students by giving you her personal number. I have been to two other colleges and I do not recollect anyone ever doing that, they really don't care for you just your money. Now as far as the teachers and program.. The program is an INTENSE 18 month course, (remember you signed up for it,) that requires MUCH hard work and time beyond, the general class time. It is designed to take you from the bare basics and provide you with the essential tools to understand your new career. On to the teachers, the teachers here PERSONALLY care for your success. They provide you with the tools, text books, and knowledge they each have. Gayle and Maryna are EXCELLENT resources and teachers. I truly have learned to love them, and respect them and their knowledge! They both have been in the field and can give you much insight and prospective on the FULL ultrasound experience and knowledge. When you think you can't, they tell you, "Oh you can and will!" The online component is not bad; however, you have to be disciplined and diligent to do your WORK! Many of these people complaining probably fell behind because they probably thought they can skate by! This is not the case here. Now in regards to financial aid, they are nice over there and do help you.

Cons- As with anything, there are cons. A major problem I had with the school was in the beginning. There was no orientation to show you how to log on to the schools online campus, and this is not good. I am a need to know kinda of girl. I am glad that I was already an online student once, and am computer savvy, as this (and another student,) saved me on my first day! If you have online class before lab then you too will be lost! Another con for me personally was the fact that I was not informed about the finals being in the middle of the day prior to signing up! I think that this is an important component for working people to know! Not everyone has the flexibility to just take off of work, if they are still working and going to school at the same time.

Overall- I really love the school. I am extremely content with the choice I have made to advance myself and my family. This is not for everyone, and it truly is what YOU make of it. If you truly put in the hard work, you can excel in this school! If you do not, it will not work for you... Good luck and continue to soar!!!

P.S. I have actually spoken to an alumni of the school, (who happened to be my daughter's sonographer by pure coincidence,) and she is working for a huge hospital in Jersey City. This to me was reassuring that I have made the right decision!

I am a current Diagnostic Medical Sonography Student and enjoy the school and the program thoroughly. I do believe they have the resources to help you achieve your goal of becoming a registered DMS. The instructors are knowledgeable and care about your success. I will post another review after I complete the program in December of 2016. As of now, it's been great and I have learned a lot in a short amount of time. Be advised that this program is for those who have already received a Bachelor's degree and are able to read their texts/online journals on their own, complete assignments online, and learn through online videos and self-teaching at times. Overall, I am satisfied with the program and believe I will do very well upon completion.
